Natasha is a full-time artist and illustrator working from her studio in Suffolk on the east coast of England and feels lucky to live in such a beautiful place. Whether she is walking through the heathlands, fields, forests, or along the beach, her surroundings definitely inspire her work. She has a life-long love of nature, especially birds and trees, and a fascination with astronomy and the moon – all subjects that regularly find their way into her paintings.
Natasha has exhibited with many galleries throughout the UK and overseas, and her work has been selected several times for major shows including The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours (where she won a Winsor & Newton award for young artists), The Society of Women Artists, and the Singer and Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, all held at the Mall Galleries, London SW1. Four new paintings were exhibited at the Chelsea Art Fair in 2011. Her work now sells to collectors worldwide with paintings in private collections in more than 20 countries. Selected originals and prints are also available through her online shop: www.natashanewtonart.etsy.com
Her art has been used by the publishing company Random House for a series of five books by the author Jorge Bucay, as well as on the front cover of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine. Other commissions have included CD cover illustration, business logos, and magazine articles. Collections of her painted stones were featured in Homes & Gardens and Ideal Home magazines in the UK, and in the Summer 2014 issue of Flow magazine in The Netherlands. Natasha’s work is also featured in two books released in the US and UK during early 2015: Rock Art! by Denise Scicluna and Just Add Watercolour by Helen Birch, and an upcoming book due to be released in Australia and the UK later this year.
