Julie Giles

Julie moved to Suffolk in 1967 and has painted its fields, lanes, coast, marsh and rivers ever since.

Much of her work is made outside, ‘on the spot’ using expressive oil paint on thick hand made Indian paper, sometimes further worked in the studio to intensify the mood. She has exhibited widely, had many solo exhibitions, and has been showing at the John Russell Gallery in Ipswich a for over 25 years.

Julie has also had a career in teaching, including annual expeditions to Italy to teach and paint at the Centro D’Arte Verrocchioin in Tuscany. She is a member of the Suffolk Group.
