Clare Curtis

Clare studied in Scotland and worked in London as an illustrator before returning to Felixstowe, her home town, to focus on printmaking. She uses traditional printing methods and plates and blocks are drawn or cut by hand and each colour is printed separately to create distinctive, original artwork.
Influenced by 20th century British art and design, the work often depicts botanical subjects and the East Anglian coast with its jumble of flotsam and jetsam,¬†shacks and boats. Clare’s prints have been published by Art Angle Cards, used on packaging by Mornflake, the National Trust and Adnams Brewery and for book covers by Faber & Faber, Blood-axe Books and Random House.
