Anne Paton

After a career in publishing working as a production editor and designer Anne now works full time as a painter in Walberswick. She received her fine art training at the Chelsea School of Art starting in the sculpture department and moving over to painting where she spent much time printmaking with Peter Baer with Eric Shanes as her painting tutor .  She has had her work shown in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, the New English Art Club, The Chapel Galleries, The Southwold Gallery and Snape Maltings Gallery,  the Castle Museum, Norwich and others.  Her work is included in many private and public collections here and abroad.

Anne has been featured as the Artist of the Month at the Snape Maltings Gallery on several occasions.  In 2007 she had her first solo exhibition at the Chappel Galleries and showed in their 2009 summer show. In 2008 she had work included in the Castle Museum in Norwich and was a featured artist in the Halesworth Arts Festival at The Cut. She is a member of the Artworks Group and has participated in the Suffolk Open Studios scheme. She likes to work expressively responding to the landscapes and seascapes of East Anglia using mixed media.  She endeavours to convey the essence of a scene with an economy of line.
